 Surgical care of the gums and long term maintenance. When Dr. Lutz graduated from dental school he performed periodontal surgery almost every week. He rarely does them now because of the success of non-surgical treatment. This is delivered by our highly skilled hygienists while the gums are numb. If a patient follows our directions, they are usually maintained indefinitely without surgery. This is a wonderful benefit for the patient and demonstrates the importance of consistent hygiene care. Now we only do a handful of periodontal surgeries each year and delight in our healthy hygiene patients.
